Hey You! :)

I’m Kika, a Wonderer and believer in the simple beauty of people and everything surrounding us. Someone who conveys a very warm yet grounding and down to earth presence, like people I come across often tell me.

Hearing people say these things again and again, at some point in my journey, made me realise that bringing the warm light and calm, safe, loving yet strong energy is the gift I could contribute with in this world. Suddenly everything made sense and two months later I was already under the palm trees in India, in a beautifully simple shala, where I took my first Yoga teacher training.

Yoga has held an important part in my life and in my sense of self for nearly 15 years already. Vinyasa yoga is especially dear to my heart. I absolutely love the expressivity of it, how the practice can become an expression of who I am in any particular day. I love how much life this practice holds and conveys, how much can be felt and moved. I love how alive it makes me feel yet how adaptable it is to any day and mood I’m in. This is what I like to teach as well. Providing a space for people to feel themselves and really allow their uniqueness to shine through first on their mat, to get the empowerment to allow it also off the mat. Also to be compassionate and always adapt the practice (or life) to their needs. Crazy how much power this little wiggle we do on our mats has, right? :)

My teaching usually varies depending on the who is in the room. For example, I teach yoga classes tailored for climbers, for people with a fragile stress response, and for people who seek more depth in their yoga practice. I am also trained in Yin yoga and have absolutely loved holding a safe space for slowing completely down, dropping in and feeling a little bit more. I furthermore try to bring focus to awareness in moving so that my students’ yoga practice could be sustainable and supporting their bodies, instead of hurting them. (Yes, you can get injured from yoga! ;) ). A more recent passion of mine is Prenatal yoga - creating a safe yet empowered space for women to rest, come from the busy heads back to their bodies, address any ached and pains while giving them a chance to both deeply relax but also move in a way that feels like themselves. Strong yet soft, explorative yet guided. I also love to work 1-on-1 so do not hesitate to get in touch if you want a more personalised approach especially during pregnancy or more stressful periods.

I am also a trained sound therapy practitioner and have been fascinated by how deeply the sound vibrations and the sounds of different instruments such as Gongs, singing bowls, chimes, bells, rattles, drums can touch us and trigger memories, emotions and affect our nervous system. It has been absolutely amazing to work with people both individually or in groups and allow this modality that feels so sacred to do it’s magic. The deep relaxation and relief in people’s faces after each and every treatment just means everything - its’s such a simple yet such a powerful tool to use! You can find upcoming sound bath events in the EVENTS section.

This has been a very long monologue so thank you for allowing me to share and reading all the way until the end. I hope to meet you in some setting or another soon, either on your mat or bathed in sound vibrations!

Love,
Kika
